Audit for Agricultural Holdings

As a rule, financial statements of Ukrainian Agroholdings is audited by the "Big Four". For some companies this choice is motivated by their participation in international stock or credit markets, but it is also a tribute to the fashion. Owners and top managers of agricultural holdings should think about such a choice, because "second-tier" audit companies are more motivated to provide services of Initiative Audit, Forensic, Due Diligence and, as a rule, they have a deep industry specialization.

International Institute of Audit DFK together with the Federation of Auditors, Accountants and Financiers of the AIC of Ukraine, top managers of leading agriholdings, identified the key needs of Agroholdings (capital productivity growth, land relations sustainability, image improving, etc.) and their development strategy in conditions of the state policy uncertainty (alternative to environmentally exhausting business with low added value, overcoming lack of trust from countrymen and society, information closeness, etc.).

In the framework of providing audit services, these problems can and should be solved not on the formal, but on the partner basis. Sustainable development of large agribusinesses is the future of Ukraine in the global world. Formal audit services "insured" only by audit standards are insufficient for domestic large agricultural and food companies. The International Institute of Audit is not indifferent to the problems and interests of the agrarian sector. We have and continue to work on the tools and techniques needed to solve these issues.
